What is Isagenix?
A few years ago a friend introduced my wife and me to Isagenix. Like any other product or supplement that we use, I researched Isagenix, reviewed the ingredients, and even attended a dinner specifically for physicians to learn more about how Isagenix works. What I learned piqued my interest and years of using various Isagenix products ourselves has made it a line I wanted to offer to my patients. Although a lot of anecdotal information I received was exciting and the research is available for anyone who is interested to review, remember as a supplement none of the claims made by Isagenix have been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Although there are many benefits to using Isagenix products, they are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
The workhorse of the Isagenix line is the shake. My wife drinks hers as a post workout breakfast and I drink my shake in the evening after dinner as a vitamin supplement (in addition to being rich in vitamins it includes probiotics). There are dairy-free options available for individuals with sensitivities.
The Isagenix cleanse has been an effective method of weight loss for not just my wife but for many other that I have recommended Isagenix to. In a study performed in 2012 by University of Illinois at Chicago researchers, subjects lost an average of 9 pounds with an average of 2 pounds of the loss from visceral fat after 30 days on an Isagenix system. The subjects also had a greater level of adherence and had more consistent weight loss from week to week compared to subjects on a traditional diet. Remember that weight loss is never typical, however and individual results may vary.
Whether you are interested in using an entire system or individual products, we are happy to help you navigate the various products and make recommendations.
If you are pregnant, nursing, diabetic, on medication, have a medical condition, or are beginning a weight control program, consult your physician before using Isagenix products or making any other dietary changes. Discontinue use if adverse events occur.
