Getting Ready for ReShape

Hello everyone! My name is Tosha. I’m starting a new weight loss chapter in my life and I'm kickstarting it with the Reshape intragastric balloon. I will be writing about my journey for the next twelve months in the hopes that I can give other people considering gastric balloons some insight into how it works and also so I can share this process with others who are also using ReShape to take back control of their lives.

I had my final consult with Dr. Din on Thursday February 15, 2018. My procedure is scheduled for March 6th. In my initial consult I was told I had to lose at least 10 lbs. in order to qualify for the balloon.  In my mind I’m thinking how in the world am I going to do this, Lord you know I have a problem with losing weight. I was determined to do it, however, and although it was a struggle to lose the 10 lbs I put my  mind to it and got it done.

I am so excited to be on my way to a healthier me!  I’m preparing myself mentally and physically for the road ahead. I’ve started my exercise regimen by walking 30 minutes a day. I picked up all my medications that I have to take leading up to the procedure and during the time I’ll have the ballon system placed. I’ve actually started Omeprazole today 2/20/18. This medication you have to start taking two weeks before your procedure twice a day to help prepare you stomach for the balloon. I’ve purchased my liquids that I will be consuming for the first couple of weeks. I’m also hydrating myself a little more leading up to the day of my procedure. I have my support system in place. ( I thank God for placing these people in my life) For me it is so important to prepare myself and have that support in place.

I always tell myself in order to get where you’ve never been you have to be prepared to do something you’ve never done. My prayer is that while I’m taking this journey that I will be an inspiration to others.  If I can do what I thought was impossible to do then so can you. Peace and blessings
